Review of the Legend Hotel – Ninh Binh, Vietnam

Review of the Legend Hotel

Ninh Binh, Vietnam

The Ninh Binh Legend Hotel is an upmarket french-colonial styled hotel around 5km from the Ninh Binh train station.  It is not considered budget accommodation, however for around the cost of an average motel in Australia, you can enjoy a standard of accommodation that may be otherwise unaffordable.

We booked a deluxe double room which consisted of a huge room and en-suite facilities. The bathroom and toilet were separate as well as an additional powder room.  The bed was King size however it definitely felt larger than our King size bed back home.

Legend Hotel in Ninh Binh

The Legend Hotel is located on the outskirts of town.  The view from the window was nothing special, in fact, I could see an abandoned cemetery from my window.  The location is really quiet and every now and then, you will see an out of place ox trot right past the front entrance.

The staff spoke excellent English and were able to organise a private driver/tour for us to see the area. The customer service was fantastic, I couldn’t fault it.  Like everywhere in Vietnam, the kids were treated like little celebrities.

The restaurant had spectacular food and was almost a little too fancy (for us rural Australian people who never eat out).  I felt a little uncomfortable taking young kids to such a nice restaurant.  Despite this, all of the staff absolutely loved the kids and would rush over and play with them as soon as we entered the dining area every day.

They didn’t seem in the slightest bit bothered by my kids making a mess on the table, and were quite interested in what young kids from another culture eat.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Ninh Binh, particularly if you are travelling with kids.
