Review of The Grand Hotel Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City

Review of The Grand Hotel Saigon

– Ho Chi Minh City –

Whilst the Grand Hotel Saigon would definitely not be considered budget or even mid-range accommodation, coming from Australia, Vietnam offers a luxury that is otherwise unaffordable.  This hotel is of international standard and in a fantastic location to explore the city by foot.

ROOMS

The room was decent sized and very clean with well looked after facilities.  The bathroom was tasteful and decent sized.  We were given a bassinet to use however like usual, the kids would not go near it and we ended up using it to store our bags.

MEALS

The meals were expensive for Vietnam, however we are in an International Hotel so it’s to be expected.  I was a bit surprised to find them on par with Australian Prices though.  As a result, we ate most of our meals elsewhere.  I have eaten at numerous buffet breakfasts over the last 8 years and I can honestly say that this is the best one I have ever experienced.  I have never seen so much variety of food and different styles on offer before.

OTHER FACILITIES

The hotel has a nice pool, roof top bar, pool bar, gym, spa, hairdressers and casino.  If you are the kind of traveler who hangs around the hotel, you cannot go wrong in this one.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO OTHERS ?

Despite the fact that the breakfast buffet caused me to gain a couple of extra kilograms, I would absolutely recommend this hotel to other families and travellers.
