Review of Long Beach Resort – Phu Quoc Island

Review of Long Beach Resort

Phu Quoc Island – Vietnam

I had read mixed reviews on this resort so I wasn’t really sure what to expect.  However, Long Beach Resort on Phu Quoc Island turned out to be one of the BEST resorts I have ever stayed at!

The resort is located at the stretch of sand known as ‘Long Beach’ on Phu Quoc Island.  It has both an incient wing and a modern wing.  We stayed in the modern wing and the room was quite large with a nice little balcony.    The en-suite was decent sized and quite modern.

The ancient wing has to be seen to be believed!  The exterior gives a feel of a traditional village however it is pure luxury with extensive fish ponds, wooden bathtubs with brass fitting and beautifully decorated rooms. Unfortunately, these rooms were out of our price range for this trip.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.  They picked us up at the airport upon request and had already brought in an extra single bed and a cot for us to use before we arrived.  Most of the staff spoke excellent English.

There is a restaurant, a beach bar and also room service available.  Every single meal we ordered was superb, even simple dishes like Pumpkin Soup seemed to taste spectacular.

Most of the time my kids are too wild to eat at nice places!
The restaurant was happy to serve our meals on the beach where it was easier to manage the kids, and they also have room service

Long Beach Resort has a decent size swimming pool, as well as a mini toddler size pool right beside it.  There is also a luxury spa on site that offers a lot of different style treatments and massages.

I would absolutely recommend this resort to other families.  Despite the few negative reviews I read on trip adviser (which were mainly complaints about staff not speaking enough English, which we didn’t have any problems with), I found this resort to be absolutely fantastic.  Staff were friendly and helpful, resort grounds were maintained well, rooms were large and clean.  It’s located on a lovely beach that the sun sets over. What more can you ask for ?
