18 photos that will inspire you to visit the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton

The Capricorn Coast in Queensland is a fantastic holiday destination for families.  The islands just off shore are at the tail end of the Great Barrier Reef.  This means fantastic snorkeling just off the shoreline!

Byfield National Park and State Forest are a real highlight and due to the national park camp grounds, ensures you can keep the holiday costs down to a minimum.

Rockhampton has a lot to offer families.  Did you know that they have a free zoo within the botanical gardens?  The botanical gardens themselves are spectacular and have a huge playground for the kids too.

Yeppoon also has a lot to offer families with a free waterpark on the esplanade and kilometres of sand for making sandcastles and relaxing on.

Check out these photographs of the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton to inspire family travel!

Long Beach on Great Keppel Island is a beautiful stretch of white sand and aqua water with few visitors. You have to hike in to reach it and clothes are optional on the eastern end of the beach.
