5 Reasons to Visit New Caledonia with Kids
It’s a French/Melanesian blend………need I say more ? Even the pickiest of eaters will find something they like here.
IT’S SO VERY CLOSE TO AUSTRALIA
Did you know it’s only approximately 2 hours from Brisbane, 3 from Sydney and around 4 from Melbourne. You can literally go there for a long weekend. If I’m being honest, the less time my kids are spent cooped up in the plane the better.
THE STUNNING SECLUDED ISLANDS
I have been to a few “tropical islands that dreams are made of” type destinations, and I can honestly say that the Isle of Pines and Lifou can hold their own against the heavy weights. These islands are a real surprise gem and there is good reason the cruise ships stop here to visit. Even young children are awed by the white sand and calm blue and turquoise waters.
THE UNIQUE CULTURE
A unique blend of French and Melanesian cultures. You see this in the food, the architecture, the wine and in the general welcoming nature of the people that reside here.
IT’S EASY TO GET AROUND
Prams or strollers can be used in Noumea easily here. This means that the pavement is in good condition and there is enough space to maneuver one. (You will know what I mean if you have ever attempted to push one in Asia). Taxi’s are similar prices to Australia.
